What happens when the insular lo-fi leanings of
a critically acclaimed bedroom-recording auteur
are brought to the ever shifting dynamic of a full
fledged band? The answer is "for the beauty
of night" the third release from Jeremy Brightbill's
sonic identity Panic Strikes a Chord and first with
a full band. For
the first time, barring the occasional studio guest
here and there, Brightbill's world of heartbreak
and melody has been opened up to others for a sum
greater than its parts. The icy minimalistic sonic
landscapes of PSAC's previous releases have been
replaced with an organic warmth that moves from
spacious, spiraling melodic rock to alt. country
songs from some slightly off dopelganger universe
where the Spiders From Mars are on the cover of
